It’s been happening since Min was eight. Every two years, on her birthday, she is murdered by the same man in cold blood. But hours later she wakes up in a clearing just outside her hometown – alone, unhurt, and with all evidence of crime erased.
Across the valley, Noah just wants to be like everyone else. But he’s not. Nightmares of murder and death plague him too, though he does his best to hide the signs.
And as the world around them begins to spiral towards panic and destruction, the troubled teens discover that people have been lying to them their whole lives….

I was kindly given a copy of this book in exchange for a review so thank you My Kinda Book and Macmillan Children’s Books for the opportunity to read and review this book for you!
The sun rises. But not for me. I know what day it is. Will he come sooner, or later? I don’t know, but it doesn’t matter. He’ll come. And when he does, I’ll die.
I received, started and also finished this entire book in one day, I just had this overwhelming NEED to know what the hell is happening to Min and Noah in their small town. This book has left me wanting more, I have questions and I NEED ANSWERS NOW!!!! But, alas, I shall have to wait until next year… (cries)
I liked reading this story from both of the main characters point of view, Min and Noah, it was interesting to see what was going on through both of their eyes and their thoughts on whats happening, because even though they’ve both been through the same experience, they’re both completely different in how their dealing with it and how they act when they find out things.
For me this book was crazy good! I love a good mystery, trying to figure things out myself before the big reveal and honestly, I got everything wrong, I was freaking miles off of what I thought would happen. I had an idea of what might happen when the big reveal came at the end when Min and Noah find out what’s happening to them but BOY WAS I WRONG! It was darker than what I thought, I was not expecting that… AT ALL!!
The premise of this book had me intrigued from the start, I mean being murdered then waking up the next day in a clearing away from your house absolutely fine and no signs on you that you were even killed in the first place, that’s weird in itself. So I was grateful for the chance to able to get my hands on a copy from My Kinda Book to read. This book has been wild and unpredictable from the start until the very last page, it will leave you on a cliffhanger. I grew attached to our main two characters, Min and Noah, Thomas (Tack) is okay, not really sure on how I really feel about his character to be honest. But I’m sure in the second book my feelings and opinions on them all will change in some way or another.
Throughout this book, the main thoughts were just: whaat the actual hell, holy crap and DAMNNN. I loved this book, a lot, like oh my God, it was mind boggling and I just needed to know what was going to happen next, and I STILL NEED TO KNOW!
I quite like the cover of this book but I am in love with the stained red edges of the book, it makes it 10 times better! I’m excited for the second book, Genesis to come out next year, 6th March, can’t wait to get my hands on a copy! I don’t know how many books will be in the series but I know that I’ll probably read them all!
