My Readathon Wrap Up!

From the 10th-15th July, I made myself a readathon so that I could cross off a few books on my never ending TBR. I managed 5 and started a sixth.

The first book I read was Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, this is published by Hodder & Stoughton, this book was a YA contemporary fantasy and I gave this book 5/5 stars. Before I Fall was a review book for me to read so here is my review link – Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver REVIEW. – if you want to know more about it. highly recommend this especially if you loved Lauren Oliver’s other books. I now need to watch the film on Netflix which I plan to do this week!

Next was Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch, published by Walker Books, this was an adorably cute read, I just wanted to go to Italy after I had read this, it was just indescribable , I don’t know how to put it into words, I gave this a 5/5 stars. This book is a YA contemporary romance, and if you love a good contemporary read, this book is for you, you’ll love it. I can’t wait to read Jenna’s next book Love & Luck which is out next year on May 1st I believe.

My third book was One of Us is Lying by Karen M. Mcmanus, published by Penguin, this book was a YA contemporary thriller mystery and it was great, such an exciting read to find out who the murderer was. I love a good murder mystery, it was incredibly gripping and I read it in just two sittings, I gave this book a 5/5 stars. I’m excited to see what Karen is writing next!

My forth book was Nemesis by Brendan Reichs, this was a review book sent to me by the publisher My Kinda Book/Macmillan, this book was a YA fantasy/sci-fi, I gave this book also a 5/5 stars it was intriguing and kept me guessing, here is the link – Nemesis by Brendan Reichs – to my review of this book if you want to find out more. Also this book wasn’t actually a part of my readathon TBR list to read for the week, but I got it in the post and I was just so excited to start it so I swapped something out for this instead.

My fifth and final finished book of the week was another review book, Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody, published by Harlequin Teen, I gave this a 4/5 stars, this was one of my anticipated reads of July, it officially comes out on the 25th July but I got an early e-copy via NetGalley and I got my hardcover copy early on Amazon. I have also done a review for this – Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody – so you can go and check that out as well!

I started reading a sixth book which was The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey, this is a YA fantasy published by ATOM, I am currently on page 38/361, I’m having a hard time getting into it, so going to push through for a few chapters.

I enjoyed getting through a few books and getting them off of my TBR list, I might make a plan and do something like this monthly as it motivates me to actually read them and complete my goal.
