This is probably going to be a short review as I sadly don’t have a lot to say about it.

I read and loved Karen’s first book One Of Us Is Lying when I read it last year so I was really looking forwards to getting my hands on her next book and when I saw it in Tesco for just £4 I couldn’t resist. It sounded intriguing and I do love a good murder mystery read however I felt that this just fell a bit flat from my expectations.

I felt that it was a little slow and not a lot really happened as for me the suspense wasn’t there like it was for the first one. This book is done from two points of view, one being Ellery who is obsessed with true crime and figuring out whose behind the disappearance of her aunt in 1995 and the murder of homecoming queen Lacey in 2014 and just her luck when she just moves to Echo Ridge and the killer claims to be back and out to murder another homecoming queen and the other point of view is Malcom

This book only got its half a star because of the last 20-30 pages I felt were the most intense, finding out who the killer was and how that effects Ellery and Malcom in the end. The book is filled with little twists throughout it but nothing major and not once was I like, oh my gosh what’s gonna happen?! y’know? I’m just a little disappointed but overall it was an okay read considering it was one of my most anticipated reads of January, I just felt that it could have been done a little bit better but oh well it is what it is!

Have you read this one? Or have you read One Of Us Is Lying? 🙂
