Disclaimer: This is an arc copy however I acquired it in a trade and all thoughts are my own.

Ever since I heard about this book at the end of 2018 I’d been looking forwards to reading it so I was happy that I was able to get a chance to read it a little bit earlier! I was intrigued by the title and I knew that I wanted to read it. I’ve read one of her other books The Crown’s Game which I did like but I gave it three out of five stars and I’m yet to read the second book which I received in the post just the other day so hopefully I’ll get around to that soon.

In this book there are several points of views, I feel that it’s mainly done from Sora’s POV, overall I believe that there are about six POV? If not more, I didn’t quite keep track of them BUT they are easy to tell whose view we are looking at!

Some parts of the book were a little slow whereas I found that other parts were more fast paced which I think balanced it out just right! Some of chapters were relatively short. The ending was shocking so I’m sad to wait a whole year just to find out what happens, the plot twists in this book are just surprising and to be honest I didn’t really see them coming!

There was a little bit of romance in this however I either would have preferred more or for it just to be left out. It’s definitely one of those books where the romance isn’t a major thing to be needed in the book but I’m totally rooting for Sora and Daemon #sorrynotsorry

So to conclude I thought it was an interesting concept and I enjoyed the story, looking forwards to book two!
