Disclaimer: I was sent a free copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you Vicky Nolan for sending me a copy of your book, I was looking forwards to reading it! I managed to finish it within a couple of hours as it’s quite a short book. I don’t normally read non-fiction books but I’d heard a lot of good things about it so I jumped at the chance when Vicky contacted me about reading her book! It came in such a cute package along with some Fizz Whiz which I obviously ate.

Tongue tied, occupied in my mind again. Running fast, coming last since I don’t know when I, I don’t know why…False start, tripping over myself again, Hit the ground, look around, want to fly again”

This book is a true story where Vicky has written about her life, her dream of becoming a pop star.

Scrapbook of an Unfound Songstress is about 15 year old school girl Vicky Nolan who has big dreams on becoming a pop star. Her dreams become reality and she’s whisked away to Copenhagen to make some music and we see all of her ambitions happen until she’s hit with a nightmare law suit at 16 years old, still at school as there has been a falling out with her management and they decided to sue her.

This book gives us insight into what the reality is of looking to become a pop star and we get to read about the high’s and lows of it. We get to read about her family as well and how the law suit effected them and also how supportive that both of her parents were during her climb to becoming a pop star. We jump back and forth into seeing the glamorous side of life she’s been enjoying and seeing the harsh reality of it.

I’ve really enjoyed reading about Vicky’s story and what was extra special about this book was that you could pop onto YouTube and play Vicky’s songs as you go along in the book, you can find her YouTube here. Her voice is absolutely beautiful and the songs itself are amazing so I definitely recommend buying the book and listening along with it, she does have them listed of what song goes where before each song but I’ve also listed them below 🙂 Again, thank you Vicky for giving me the chance to read your story and I do recommend this book if you wish to read about her journey.
