Thank you to both Gaja J Kos and Boris Kos for sending me a gorgeous arc of this book!

When I first started reading this I thought it was a little slow, I actually put it down to begin with and went to a different book and I came back to this about a month or so later and devoured it! Again, it was still a bit slow at the beginning but the pace does pick up and I just fell in love with the characters!

So we follow a girl called Ember who falls through a portal by accident into a different world where she is now named their saviour, it had been foretold that she would reunite the worlds with her power that she didn’t know she had as they were bound and hidden away so that she couldn’t use them until she was 25 but she’s actually 18 when the spell on her powers disappear. She doesn’t believe that she is the chosen one and that they’re who everyone was looking for as she accidentally kills a man, he was trying to force himself on her, and she defends herself in a way that she didn’t know was possible. With shadowfire, this power is the possession which only one other person has.. the Crescent Prince.

The Crescent Prince otherwise known as Mordecai is an immortal and very powerful being in which his kingdom fear him and wish to overthrow him however what they don’t realise is that he is trying to save them from a world that is currently being destroyed by a void. He plays his role as a monster of a Prince well, getting his followers to fear him as it’s the only way that they would obey his commands that keep them safe from ruin.

I’m now trash for Mordecai. I must say that he is how I wished The Darkling from the Shadow and Bone trilogy turned out!

The ending of the book was just, ugh, I need the second book ASAP! I will definitely be getting myself a full cover copy in the near future as the cover is absolutely gorgeous! This is the first book in the Shadowfire trilogy and I really can’t wait to see what is in store for the next book!

This book is out on 30th October, so the release is soon! I highly recommend that you go and pick up a copy for yourself!
