April TBR!

I know, I know, it’s already April 4th and I’m late to upload my TBR for April, I don’t usually do TBR’s as I never stick to them however I am taking part in a few readathons this month and I have made TBR’s for them.

For my #AprilAThon by YouTuber Aprilius Maximus, I have set a book for each challenge!

  1. Read a book that you acquired recently. For this it will be The Archived by V E Schwab I’ve not yet read any of her books and this was one of the firsts I’ve ever wanted to read from her!
  2. Read a book with a beautiful cover. I did have All The Crooked Saints by Maggie Steifvater however I couldn’t get into it so I switched to Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
  3. Read a book you’ve been meaning to for ages. Queen of Always by Sherry D Ficklin, I’ve had this on my TBR for quite a while and it’s the last book in the trilogy that I need to finish.
  4. Read a book with your favourite colour on the cover. One of my favourite colours is purple so I’ve gone with Ghost House by Alexandra Adornetto
  5. Read a hyped book or a book that has been recommended to you. Suzanne from @bookmarvel on instagram recommended that I read The Shadow Queen by C J Redwine.
  6. Read a book that you’re EXCITED to read. I’m excited to finally read The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows!

Now considering it’s now 3 days into this challenge, I’ve already read 3/6 so I’m hoping I can complete it! If you want to jump into this challenge before it’s too late it goes from 2nd April until 8th April

The next readathon I’m taking part in is a monthlong one from April 2nd until the 29th and this is the O.W.L.s readathon by YouTuber Book Roast. @MagicalReadathn on twitter) #owlsreadathon2018

  • Ancient Runes – a book with a symbol on the cover: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, I want to reread this series before War Storm comes out in May!
  • Arithmacy – a book with a number on the cover or in the title: The Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray
  • Astronomy – a sci-fi book: Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhonda Belleza
  • Care of Magical Creatures – a book that includes magical creatures or features a magical creature on the cover: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J K Rowling
  • Charms – a fantasy book: Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston
  • DADA – A book about/featuring secret clubs/societies: Ruby Red by Kiersten Gier
  • Divination – a book featuring prophecies: Trials of Apollo: Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan
  • Herbology – a book with nature related word in the title – Rebel of the Sands
  • History of Magic – Historical Fiction: Queen of Always by Sherry D Ficklin
  • Muggle Studies – muggle non fiction book: not taking part in this one as I don’t read this genre.
  • Potions – a book about/with alchemy: Potion Diaries: Royal Tour by Amy Alward
  • Transfiguration – deals with transfiguring/shapeshifting or similar theme OR has a cat on the cover: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Another month long readathon I’m taking part in is Empty Shelfie, this theme is Under the Sea and the challenges for this month are:

  • A book about a cruise: For this I choose Trials of Apollo: Dark Prophecy as I don’t own any books that involves a cruise and I believe that this book involves a sort of flying dragon ship thing?! I had to improvise ..
  • A book with water on the cover: Lullaby by Amanda Hocking I’ve had this to read for ages so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to read it.
  • A book set in a foreign land: I thought anything would work for this so Lorali by Laura Dockrill.
  • A book with a marine/tropical word in the title: Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly
  • A book that has gold/yellow and blue on the cover: I’ve gone with Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

That’s all of the books for now, I do have other books I want to read this month three which I will be reading are Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi, Obsidio by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman and A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas.

Are you taking part in any readathons this month? 🙂
