Thank you to Pan Macmillan and My Kinda Book for sending me an arc copy of this in exchange for a review! Isn’t the proof copy absolutely GORGEOUS?! The rose gold coloured foil was the perfect effect for this book

Sometimes, I imagine alternate endings to the story: last-minute miracles, touches of magic. I picture how things might have gone, if I wasn’t there. If I’d left just a few minutes later. If I hadn’t been alone. It doesn’t make any difference. One way or another, the crash always comes.

Out of the Blue by Sophie Cameron is now officially out in the world! My review is a couple of days late as I’ve been busy but it’s here now!! 😀

Out of the Blue is a young adult, LGBT, fantasy book, it is more of a magic realism book than a full on fantasy. I adored this book, it was so cute and angels too! I went into this book not really knowing a lot about it, I actually thought it was a full contemporary before I fully read the synopsis but it’s actually a contemporary/fantasy – magic realism, it sounded incredibly interesting and I loved it! I finished this book within a few hours, it has less than 300 pages so I flew through it.

This book is a standalone and it wraps up wonderfully, it has a great storyline and wonderful characters you fall in love with! We follow Jaya, our main character, as her mother dies and ten days later angels start falling and no one knows why as the angels never survive the impact with Earth. Jaya ends up relocating to Edinburgh, Scotland for the summer holidays with her little sister and father because her dad believes that he could figure out where an angel is going to fall so that he can catch it alive. However Jaya doesn’t care for this and doesn’t understand the obsession with the angels and why her dad cares more about them than his two daughters after the loss of their mum.

When Jaya goes out for a stroll to get away from her dad and sister, an angel ends up falling at her feet and it survives. And she realises that she must keep it away from her father. During her time keeping this angel she makes some new friends who help her keep her secret and look after the angel until it all becomes a bit too much!

This book contains f/f romance, it’s adorable, I love it! One of the character’s whose in it is also disabled, I won’t mention it so that I don’t give anything away about what disability it is, but I can say that it’s really well done and Sophie Cameron is an author to look out for from now on!

So thank you to My Kinda Book for giving me the chance to review this and I look forwards to any books that Sophie Cameron will bring out in the future!
