The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love. No matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly is always careful. Better to be careful than be hurt.

But when Cassie gets a new girlfriend who comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick, everything changes. Will is funny, flirtatious and basically the perfect first boyfriend.

There’s only one problem: Molly’s coworker, Reid, the awkward Tolkien superfan she could never fall for… right?

YA, Contemporary Romance.

I was lucky enough to have won this book in a giveaway over on Twitter! And I’m so glad that I did because I’m not sure I would’ve bought it for a long while if I didn’t win! I gave this book a 5/5 stars because I loved this book so much that I actually finished this in one sitting, I didn’t, couldn’t put it down! There were moments during this book that I related so much to Molly back in my high school days, I’m 21 now so I don’t have to deal with shitty, judgy people and the issues that go with high school, (popularity, being pretty and skinny) I no longer surround myself with those kind of people.

Becky Albertalli I think has done a fabulous job with this book, I think it was wonderfully written. I don’t usually read contemporary books but whenever I do decide to pick one up they are always great, I have yet to be disappointed with a YA contemporary read! This is the first book that I have read by Becky Albertalli and I’m definitely going to pick up her other book, Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, one day! I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy, Rainbow Rowell, Jennifer Niven, Morgan Matson and John Green!
